Terms of Service

Please read these terms carefully before using Train Genie. By using the Service you agree to be bound by them.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Train Genie ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service. These terms apply to all users of traingenie.in and app.traingenie.in.
2. Description of Service
Train Genie is an independent booking reminder tool that calculates the Indian Railways Advance Reservation Period (ARP) window for your selected train routes and delivers timely WhatsApp notifications so you can complete your booking on IRCTC at the right time. We do not book tickets on your behalf, and we have no affiliation with IRCTC or Indian Railways.
3. Not an Official IRCTC Product
Train Genie is an independent third-party service. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or in any way officially connected to the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) or the Ministry of Railways, Government of India. All product and company names are the property of their respective owners.
4. No Automatic Booking
The Service does not and will never automatically book tickets on your behalf. Auto-booking violates IRCTC's Terms of Service. Train Genie only sends you a reminder notification with a direct link to IRCTC at the right time. All booking actions are performed by you, on IRCTC's platform, using your own credentials.
5. Your Account and Credentials
Train Genie never asks for, stores, or processes your IRCTC username, password, OTP, or payment details. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Train Genie account. Notify us immediately at care@traingenie.in if you suspect any unauthorised use of your account.
6. Email Reminders
By registering an email address, you consent to receive booking reminder emails from Train Genie. Email frequency depends on the number of routes you configure. You may opt out at any time by deleting your routes in the app, using the unsubscribe link in any reminder email, or contacting us at care@traingenie.in.
7. Free and Paid Plans
The free plan provides one active route reminder and standard T-60 tracking at no cost, indefinitely. The premium plan (₹299/year) provides unlimited active routes and additional features as described on the pricing page. Paid plans are billed in advance. We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice. No refunds are provided for partially used subscription periods unless required by applicable law.
8. Accuracy of Reminders
We calculate booking windows based on Indian Railways' published Advance Reservation Period rules. While we strive for accuracy, Train Genie does not guarantee that every reminder will fire at the exact correct time. Booking window rules may change without notice. It remains your responsibility to verify the correct booking date on IRCTC. Train Genie is not liable for missed bookings due to delayed or incorrect reminders.
9. Prohibited Use
You agree not to: (a) use the Service for any unlawful purpose; (b) attempt to reverse-engineer or scrape Train Genie; (c) use the Service to violate IRCTC's Terms of Service; (d) share your account with others or create multiple accounts to circumvent plan limits; or (e) transmit any harmful, offensive, or disruptive content through the Service.
10. Intellectual Property
All content, design, code, and branding on traingenie.in are the property of Train Genie and protected under applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without prior written permission.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, or uninterrupted availability. We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free or available at all times.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Train Genie shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages — including missed train bookings, financial loss, or loss of data — arising out of your use of or inability to use the Service. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify registered users by WhatsApp or email before material changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
